Palestine Book Club - Kickoff

Monday, June 16th

19:00 – 21:00, event starts at 19:30
Language: English/Arab
Entry: Free!

The kick-off of the first Palestine book Club at Savannah Bay!

Savannah Bay launches a book club on the topic of Palestine in collaboration with Podium voor Palestina. From fiction to non-fiction, every last Monday of the month we will come together to discuss books about Palestine.

The series’ lineup starts with a get-to-know-each other on Monday 16th of June, followed by a Poetry night on the 30th of June. After the summer the first book discussion will take place on the 29th of September, on ‘The 100 Years War on Palestine’ by Rashid Khalidi.

After that we will delve into the beautiful world of Arab and Palestinian literature, for example “Mornings in Jenin” by Susan Abulhawa.

More books and evenings to follow!

The bookclub is not a year-month-long commitment, feel free to join any month you like! It is also okay if you have not read the book and would just like to join the conversation. There will be snacks and drinks available. The event is free!

In this session we will get to know each other, and see what the wishes are for those who want to join the book club evenings. Tips and recommendations are more than welcome, and you can go through the books in the store.

Please join us for an expansive conversation and treats on Monday, June 16th.
