Savannah's Feminist Book Club

Thursday, November 28th

8 PM – 9.30 PM

The third edition of four by Savannah’s Feminist Book Club with Lola Ulufemi.

From September to December, Savannah’s Feminist Book Club will read and discuss four classic feminist non-fiction books. Each month we discuss different feminist issues through foundational feminist authors, with people of color for three books. The bookclub is not a four-month-long commitment, feel free to join any month you like. There will be snacks and drinks available. The event is free if you buy the book at our shop; otherwise, we ask a contribution of €6.

Published only in 2020, our third book is the most recent nonfiction in our series, namely Lola Olufemi’s Feminism Interrupted: Disrupting Power. Olufemi yanks feminism out from its comfortable commercialization, daring readers to imagine and advocate for revolutionary, intersectional feminism. Tackling state violence, abortion and reproductive rights, trans issues, and gendered Islamophobia, these brief 160 pages direct us to seek change in a modern context. Please join us for an expansive conversation and treats on Thursday, November 28 at 19:30.
